TERMS OF SERVICE — Veriscope Chrome Extension

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Veriscope Chrome Extension (“the Extension”), provided by Emerging Investigations LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). By installing or using the Extension, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.


1. Purpose of the Extension

The Extension allows users to intentionally capture, preserve, and organize publicly available online content for investigative, legal, research, and documentation purposes.

The Extension performs only user-initiated actions and does not monitor or collect data in the background.


2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a binding agreement to use the Extension.


3. User Responsibilities

By using the Extension, you agree to:

  • Use the Extension only for lawful purposes

  • Capture only publicly available content you are legally permitted to collect

  • Comply with local, state, federal, and international laws governing evidence collection and privacy

  • Ensure your use does not violate the terms of any website you capture content from

  • Maintain control of your Veriscope account credentials and captured data

You are solely responsible for how you use the Extension.


4. Data Handling and Privacy

The Extension does not collect personal data except what is necessary to perform user-requested captures.

Captured content is transmitted only to your authenticated Veriscope workspace and is not sold, shared, or used for advertising.

Use of the Extension is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.


5. License to Use

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Extension solely for its intended purpose.

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Extension

  • Attempt to bypass security controls

  • Use the Extension for automated scraping, mass harvesting, or unauthorized surveillance

  • Remove or alter branding, notices, or copyright marks

Violation of these restrictions may result in termination of your access.


6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Extension:

  • In a manner that violates any law

  • To collect sensitive or private data without lawful authority

  • To infringe on third-party copyright or privacy rights

  • To facilitate fraud, harassment, impersonation, or malicious activity

  • To attempt unauthorized access to any system, network, or account

We reserve the right to suspend or revoke access if misuse is detected.


7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable service, but we do not guarantee:

  • That the Extension will be available at all times

  • That captures will always succeed

  • That data transmitted to Veriscope will never experience interruptions

You acknowledge that occasional downtime, maintenance, or updates may occur.


8. Updates and Modifications

We may update the Extension to improve functionality, security, or compliance.

Updates may occur automatically via the Chrome Web Store.

We also reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time.

Continued use of the Extension constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.


9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Extension is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis.

We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose

  • Accuracy or completeness of captured content

  • Reliability of data transmission or storage

  • Non-infringement

Use the Extension at your own risk.


10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Extension

  • We are not responsible for lost, corrupted, or misinterpreted data

  • Your sole remedy is to discontinue use of the Extension

If liability cannot be waived, it is limited to $50 USD.


11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Extension:

  • If you violate these Terms

  • If required by law or governmental order

  • If security risks or misuse are detected

You may uninstall the Extension at any time to terminate your use.


12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida.
